Led by Barbara Petrus, the IIBD team designs homes and spaces that marry beauty, functionality, and comfort. Each design is built on Barbara's ability to understand the needs of her clients and enhance their lives through timeless and meaningful design.
The IIBD team is based in Charleston, South Carolina, and transforms homes throughout the area through their seamless process and sophisticated design.
About Barbara
For the past two decades, Barbara Petrus has been creating spaces for clients across the country. Barbara grew up in Southwest Missouri and earned a degree in interior design. After graduation, Barbara’s first foray into design was in the hospitality and healthcare realms. During that time, she became skilled at creating spaces that were highly functional and easy to maintain without sacrificing aesthetics. Those experiences still inform her work today as she has turned her primary focus towards residential interiors.
Barbara is ASID trained and has her NCIDQ certification, along with the LEED green associate, which she obtained in 2016. She has received ASID awards for group and individual projects.
When she is not in the studio, Barbara loves time with family, exploring Charleston, traveling, and being outdoors. Her focus in life is to find joy, laughter, or a learning experience in every situation she encounters.
